From Rev. Margot Davies, Assistant Curate, July 2005:
Dear all,
I am looking forward both to my ordination on Saturday July 2 and to joining the congregation of St. John’s in the Field on Sunday July 3rd as assistant curate.
Before I arrive I thought you might like to know a little about my family and myself. I was born in Surrey and moved to Penzance with my family in 1967 when I was twelve. I have three brothers and one sister who are now scattered throughout the county with their families. My parents still live just outside Penzance. Much of my life has been spent outside Cornwall but I am so thankful that I was called to serve God in this beautiful part of the country.
Some of you may know that I have been training for the ministry for the past three years with the South West Ministry Training Course, while based at my home church of St John’s Penzance.
I am married to David Beer who is both an artist and galley owner based in St. lves.
My nineteen-year-old daughter Mikayla is in her first year at university in Bath, studying for a combined degree in music and psychology. Mikayla will be with us for the summer holidays so will be able to get to know you all a little before she returns to university at the end of September.
I look forward to sharing the journey of faith together with you in the very near future.
With every blessing,
Margot Davies.
